Tag Tuesday: Goodreads Book Tag

Hello, biblios!

Yeah, I suck. Work has been ... a Thing lately, and once I'm fiiiiinally done (12 hours yesterday, 10 today, ugh) my brain is fried and my eyes really do not want to keep looking at my laptop screen.

But it's Tuesday, and I wanted to keep up my tag posts, so I'm gonna crank one out, LOL.

Today I'm doing an oldie, the Goodreads Book Tag, which has been done by about 35168 people on Booktube, so I found it through ... one of them.

On to the questions!

1. What was the last book you marked as 'read'?

Sister by Rosamund Lupton (3 stars).

2. What are you currently reading?

Well, I just finished that one earlier today, and haven't yet started another. But the next one on my stack is Hunted by Meagan Spooner.

3. What was the last book you marked as 'TBR'?

I actually don't use the "to-read" shelf on Goodreads, because I never know if it should only be books I own and haven't read, or also include aaaaaaall the books I want to read. I use the Amazon wishlist feature as my ultimate master TBR (hint hint nudge nudge) and I have my own spreadsheet for the unread books I own.

4. What book do you plan to read next?

Haha, oops, answered above.

5. Do you use the star rating system?

Yup! I didn't consistently when I first started using the site, but I soon realized that it helped me when looking back through my library to better remember how I felt about a book. When you read so damn much, it can honestly be hard to immediately recall if you liked or disliked something you read four years ago.

6. Are you doing a 2018 reading challenge?

Yes, I set my goal to 75 books this year, and I am determined to go beyond that number, LOL.

7. Do you have a wishlist?

I don't even know what this means exactly — a wishlist on Goodreads? Like, a shelf? LOL, I guess I don't then!

8. What book do you plan to buy next?

ALL OF THEM!!! Ha ha, well ... honestly, I can't say. I have so many unread books in my home right now that I'm trying to be good and not buy any for a little while, outside of the ones I get through Book of the Month club and Owlcrate.

9. Do you have any favorite quotes?

"So many books, so little time" from Frank Zappa is pretty apropos.

10. Who are your favorite authors?

Shakespeare, Austen, Dickens, Barbara Kingsolver, Neil Gaiman, Luis Alberto Urrea, Thrity Umrigar, Julia Alvarez, Toni Morrison, Sarah Waters, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

11. Have you joined any groups?

Yes, I'm in a handful: Polls For Our Souls, YA LGBT, Book in a Jar, and a few others

12. Are there any questions you would like to add?

Not off the top of my head!

Are you on Goodreads? Do you find it helpful for tracking and expanding your reading? Do tell!

  1. I used to use Goodreads but I was so bad at keeping up with it! But maybe I should start again because when people ask me, so what have you read lately, I always end up going "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh let me get back to you!" LMAO
